Read-In

We heard back from many of you who were very enthusiastic about a read-in to protest the new restrictions on Community Room usage in Sylva and Cashiers, so we booked it for Saturday, September 19, from 1 to 3 PM at the Jackson County Public Library. Please join us with a book to read, a chair or blanket to sit on, and any pictures or mementos to share from past events you have attended at either of our library community rooms.

Growing Up Together

We are sponsoring a Growing Up Together workshop for parents on Monday, September 28, from 5:30 to 7 PM at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Professors and graduate students from WCU will discuss the normal changes you can expect from your pre-teen and teach strategies to help your family navigate this phase. Banned Books Week

In October, there will be a Right To Read evening event at the Sylva fountain to celebrate Banned Books Week. More information will be available soon.
