Did you know that you can make book requests at the library, and the Fontana Regional Library will do its best to add your requests to the collection? The library represents and supports ALL residents, not just a select few. If you feel a subject needs better coverage or you don’t see yourself represented in the collection, let them know.
A Macon County resident recently mentioned the dearth of books about sexual abstinence in the Fontana Regional Library System. If this is a subject you feel needs better coverage, make some book recommendations for inclusion in the collection. If you’re not sure of specific titles, a simple Google search will net you titles and reviews.
And, it’s always a good idea to search the library catalog before making recommendations. Your request may already be in the collection. For example, the FRL catalog currently lists 515 books classified as young adult Christian Fiction and 435 books classified as children’s Christian Fiction. The FRL does an excellent job of providing a wide and varied collection representing many interests, but it is also open to expanding existing titles and subject areas when the community asks for it.
If you feel the library needs more books on a topic, make a request! The FRL appreciates the input and the interest from the community. It is this vibrant partnership between our community and our libraries that makes them so exemplary.
